Be careful if you decide to build one. IIRC the lower must have left the factory as an "Other" and it must have been transferred as an "Other". Take the class that Dan 0351 is hosting at Freeport for a complete and accurate explanation. Once a long gun, always a long gun, so if the lower was marked as a rifle lower it will always be a lower. Or sumpin like that. It was so confusing at times.

Thank you for your interest in our CT4-2A. It is a non NFA item, legal in 48 states except CA & MA; and not subject to any assault weapon ban or restriction. No pinned mags, and has the same specs as our Enhanced Patrol Rifle(EPR) that’s featured on our website.

I lived in CT for a few years, 20 minutes from this shop. Very small, but really nice stuff. And the staff was great, including Ryan, the owner.
They did very nice work on a friend’s Browning HiPower, btw.

80% lower should take care of that issue.

Pretty sure all new stripped lowers are supposed to be transferred as others regardless of intended purpose.

You know, it may be nice for them to say it is legal here and there and everywhere (well at least in 48 states). It also may be nice of them to put a too whom it may concern letter or two on their homepage. Yet, when you buy one and get arrested and have to pay maybe $50,000 or more for an attorney to help defend you and you have ALL of your guns and ammo and acessories confiscated because you were arrested for the possession of an assault weapon (NY will not give a shit about the so called OTHER classification) and have to pay a lawyer more money to try to get them back IF you are found innocent as to the OTHER will you be happyu made the decision to buy it! Of course, in this Dystopian Soviet Socialista Anti-Gun Dempublic of Cuomoistan, you might be found guilty and then have to pay and fight even more for an appeal or three over the next 5 to 7 years or so as you rot n jail because you could not afford bail with what the lawyer is charging. You tell me - will it have been worth the money and the headaches?
Mind you, this is not my way of thinking - this is the way the antigun arrogant POS politicians have set up the law to infringe on our right to keep & bear arms, strip us of our liberties, instill fear into us and others by maybe using folks who buy something like this as an example of just how royally they will fuck us over for being good & loyal constitution loving Americans as opposed to Cuomo's arse kissers.

If I had the cash (like the cost of the gun plus $100K for lawyers), I might buy one and become the test case but first I'd transfer all of my current guns to my son in AR and give the house over to the wife. Man this state has so much to offer in natural beauty r& esources and as to culture & food but just sucks way too much because of these leftist swine like FUAC and FUCS (Chuckie Scummer, aka Charles Schumer) and the assholes who elected them - they all make me want to puke.

Under NY Safe Act any semiauto pistol with any of the following: forward grip, threaded barrel, detachable mag not from the grip, "barrel shroud" aka handguard, or over 50oz is banned. It's a pistol. Uses a pistol brace - even in the name and any halftrained DA could make that connection given it's a common phrase.
The fact this company is charging 1600 for a standard pistol pistol should in of itself be considered criminal because it's "compliant".
Take the brace off and maybe you got a shot. Either way, my guess is that you'd lose your guns, and ammo, spend tens of thousands in legal costs, still lose and spend some time in a 12x8.
The "Other" scheme works for the Tac14 and Mossberg 500 cause that's dealing with an NFA specification. NYS clearly lists other "pistols" that match a similar description to the above as being banned. You'd be fighting a relatively low burden of proof on the DAs part, that you were wrongfully charged.

For what its worth these other ARs have been selling like hotcakes over in CT, from a few big name manufacturers, with no issues. I entirely understand the fact that just because something is technically legal doesnt mean you wont spend the kids college fund defending yourself in court, but if you want this and dont get it out of fear, then the terrorists have already won. Woops, I mean politicians.
